Introducing the Drayton Park Golf Club Tamworth
Drayton Park Golf Club has always had a tradition of hospitality and friendliness that continues to this day. The clubhouse exterior is a product of the art deco style of the 1930s.
The alterations over the years have always been mindful of this architectural feature and strived to maintain it. Inside the clubhouse, ladies and gentlemen alike will find all the facilities the could wish for in a modern clubhouse.
Whether you are relatively new to golf or a low handicapper, Drayton Park is a course for all abilities. With narrow tree lined fairways and picturesque views it rewards the golfer who can keep the ball on the fairway.
Situated in mature flat parkland formerly part of the Drayton Manor estate, the seat of the Peel family - of which Sir Robert Peel, the founder of the police force, was the most famous – the course was designed and set out by James Braid, five times winner of the British Open Golf Championship.
A member of the "Famous Triumvirate" of Braid, Taylor and Vardon who between them had won several British Opens, Braid also had a hand in the design of Gleneagles, Carnoustie and Royal Troon, amongst many others
Drayton Park Golf Club is proud that it has undertaken major changes to the structure of the course to keep up with fairway and green technology and the clubs policy of continuous improvement maintains the integrity of the course as Braid would have wished it.
